The Champion City Kings (7-19) took down the West Virginia Miners (19-9) 12-3 on Sunday at Davidson Stadium after slamming the West Virginia Miners with seven runs in the sixth inning.

The Champion City Kings scored in the sixth on an error, a two-run single by Ridge Winand, a single by Cale Dineen, a three-run single by Roman Gammell, and a solo home run by Lee Sponseller.

Sponseller racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Champion City Kings.

Jonathan Weeks racked up two RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Evan DeCovich improved to 1-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Champion City Kings. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Jake Belinda (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
