Ray Lopez collected three hits as the West Virginia Miners (17-8) took home a 5-1 victory over the Champion City Kings (5-17) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Wednesday.

He singled in the second, fourth, and fifth innings.

Matt Anderson struck out 11 hitters en route to the the West Virginia Miners win. Anderson allowed one earned run on nine hits and no walks over seven innings.

Matthew Priebe had a hot bat for the Champion City Kings. Priebe went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Trent Armstrong (2-2) took the loss for the Champion City Kings. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
