Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Chatham Anglers make the most of 4 hits in 1-0 victory over the Brewster Whitecaps

Story by Narrative Science.

Both the Chatham Anglers (5-4) and the Brewster Whitecaps (3-6) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Chatham Anglers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 1-0 win at Veterans Field.

The fact that the Chatham Anglers grouped all of their runs into the first inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Todd Czinege had a hot bat for the Chatham Anglers. Czinege went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

The Brewster Whitecaps couldn't get anything going so long as Brandon Miller was on the hill. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just one hit off of Miller, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Timothy Zeuch recorded his second win of the year for the Chatham Anglers. Zeuch struck out six, walked one and gave up five hits.

Jacob Jenkins (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.
