The Brewster Whitecaps (2-0) and the Orleans Firebirds (1-1) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Brewster Whitecaps that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-4 win at Stony Brook Field.

The Brewster Whitecaps were led by Robbie Tenerowicz's hitting. Tenerowicz went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Joe Ravert was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Brewster Whitecaps batters and allowing three runs.

Steve Moyers got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Parker Bean (0-1) took the loss for the Orleans Firebirds. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
