Extra-inning thriller favors the Terre Haute Rex, 6-5 winners over the Kokomo Jackrabbits

The Terre Haute Rex (11-1) beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits (6-5) 6-5 but needed 14 innings to do so on Thursday at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.

With the score tied at five, Eric McKibban came to the plate and singled, plating Andy DeJesus.

DeJesus put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Terre Haute Rex. He homered in the first inning and tripled in the fourteenth inning.

Jacob Murray had an impressive outing against the Kokomo Jackrabbits' lineup. Murray held the Kokomo Jackrabbits hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out eight.

Mitch Schulewitz recorded his first win of the year for the Terre Haute Rex. Schulewitz struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

Chris Amato was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.

The Terre Haute Rex were sparked by DeJesus and McKibban, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
