The North Shore Navigators (28-19) and the Torrington Titans (21-23) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the North Shore Navigators that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 1-0 win at Fraser Field.
The fact that the North Shore Navigators grouped all of their runs into the eighth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.
The Torrington Titans' lineup had no answer for Thomas Lane. The Torrington Titans managed just one hit off of Lane, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Frank Valentino allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks while striking out four over eight innings of work.
Valentino (4-3) took the loss for the Torrington Titans.
