The Regina Red Sox (10-8) beat the Yorkton Cardinals (7-10) 4-1 on Saturday at Currie Field behind Gabe Snyder, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.
He singled in the sixth innings and homered in the eighth inning.Andrew MacMahon struck out eight hitters en route to the the Regina Red Sox win. MacMahon allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over seven innings.
A bright spot for the Yorkton Cardinals in the defeat was Codi Scanlon, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.
Scanlon (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
