A walk-off single from Louie Saenz brought home the winning run for the Santa Fe Fuego (28-17) in a 15-14 victory over the Garden City Wind (13-38) at Fort Marcy Park on Saturday.
Saenz got on base four times in the game for the Santa Fe Fuego. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth, fifth, and ninth innings.
Chevas Numata hit two home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Numata went 2-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Numata homered in the fifth and seventh innings.
The two teams combined for 29 runs and 37 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 10 pitchers used in the game.
Tyler Herr recorded his third win of the year for the Santa Fe Fuego. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Brandon Hudson (1-5) took the loss for the Garden City Wind. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
