The Trinidad Triggers top the Santa Fe Fuego behind Williams' 3 hits, 17-5

Saturday was a great day for Eric Williams, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Trinidad Triggers (30-13) to a 17-5 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (22-16) at Fort Marcy Park.

The Trinidad Triggers continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Trinidad Triggers scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. A two-run home run by Brian Frazier and a two-run home run by Richie Anderson helped the Trinidad Triggers score four runs in the sixth. The Trinidad Triggers had three hits in the inning.

Jeff Lyons brought the heat against the Santa Fe Fuego during his outing. Lyons held the Santa Fe Fuego hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

The Santa Fe Fuego's Matt Petrone was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

Anderson got his fourth win for the Trinidad Triggers despite allowing five runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered 11 hits.

Alex Teal ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The Trinidad Triggers pounded the Santa Fe Fuego pitching, as eight hitters combined for 16 hits, 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
