Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the White Sands Pupfish (33-24) outscored the Las Cruces Vaqueros (16-42) 15-8.

The teams totaled 31 hits in the game.

The White Sands Pupfish turned the win into a rout with six runs in the fifth. The White Sands Pupfish scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Michael Brandi, an RBI double by Brandon Burkes, a two-run triple by Wesley Wallace, an RBI triple by Aaron Nardone, and an RBI single by Alvin Beltre.

Beltre racked up three RBIs on four hits for the White Sands Pupfish.

Derek Meyer recorded his third win of the year for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Michael Ormseth was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.

The White Sands Pupfish pounded the Las Cruces Vaqueros pitching, as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
