Derrick Fox hit two home runs to carry the Alpine Cowboys (28-20) to a 15-5 win over the White Sands Pupfish (30-17) at Kokernot Field.
The biggest inning for the Alpine Cowboys was the eighth. The Alpine Cowboys' bats caught fire leading to eight runs. The Alpine Cowboys scored in the eighth on an RBI double by Tim Henry, an RBI single by Fox, , a three-run double by Colby Gee, an RBI single by Shane Barley, and an RBI single by Yuta Okazaki.
The White Sands Pupfish couldn't get anything going so long as Steven Johnson was on the hill. The White Sands Pupfish managed just one hit off of the the Alpine Cowboys' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Joe Borowski had a hot bat for the White Sands Pupfish. Borowski went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Matt Coleman got his second win for the Alpine Cowboys despite allowing five runs over six innings. Coleman struck out two, walked none and gave up 10 hits.
Gary Burns (0-2) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
The Alpine Cowboys' Fox, Gee, Henry and Riley Smith combined for nine hits and 11 RBIs.
