Early lead gives the Garden City Wind easy victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers, 14-5

The Garden City Wind (2-7) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Las Vegas Train Robbers (1-6), recording a 14-5 victory on Friday at Clint Lightner.

The game was decided quickly as the Garden City Wind exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

A three-run double by Brandon Cooksey, an RBI single by Ariel Adut, an RBI double by Craig Jaquez, an RBI single by Dylin Brooks, and an RBI single by Brooks during the first inning helped the Garden City Wind put some runs on the board early.

Cooksey racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Garden City Wind.

RJ Rayborn racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He singled in the first innings and homered in the fifth inning.

Jaquez recorded his first win of the year for the Garden City Wind. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Takaki Sato (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
