Four first-inning runs helped the Roswell Invaders (9-5) to a 6-2 win over the White Sands Pupfish (9-6) at Griggs Park on Wednesday.
Michael Morris paced the Roswell Invaders at the plate. Morris went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and eighth innings.
Shamil Ubiera had a hot bat for the White Sands Pupfish. Ubiera went 2-3 and scored one run. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
The Roswell Invaders' lineup had no answer for Ian Drapcho. The Roswell Invaders managed just one hit off of the the White Sands Pupfish's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.
Derek Meyer (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out two.
