A six-run explosion in the eighth inning hoisted the Centralia (3-13) to an 11-4 win over the Green River (5-16) on Saturday.
The Centralia scored in the eighth on a double by Jesus Acosta, a two-run double by Acosta, an error, a sacrifice fly by Austin Hines, an RBI triple by Roland Cassaday, and a two-run double by Colton Hinricksen.
Hinricksen had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Derek Putman pitched lights out for the Centralia. Putman held the Green River hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four.
Thomas Richards was hot from the plate for the Green River. Richards went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Ty Carlton improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Centralia. He allowed two runs over six innings. Carlton struck out three, walked one and gave up six hits.
Chase Kairis (2-4) took the loss for the Green River. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
