Story by Narrative Science.

The Pompano Beach Clippers (16-2) and the Coral Springs Royals (7-11) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Pompano Beach Clippers that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-4 win at Pompano Beach Park.

Scott Mathews racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the eighth innings.

The Coral Springs Royals' lineup had no answer for Dominick Stefanacci. The Coral Springs Royals managed just two hits off of Stefanacci, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Coral Springs Royals' Jack Kelly dominated the Pompano Beach Clippers' batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.

Stuart Spiers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
