A five-run explosion in the sixth inning lifted the Coral Springs Royals (2-3) to a 9-2 win over the Palm Beach Xtreme (4-3) at Spanish River High School on Thursday.

Jack Kelly got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. Kelly struck out two, walked three and gave up five hits.
Johnnie LaRossa couldn't get it done on the bump for the Palm Beach Xtreme, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
