The Phipps Park Barracudas drop the West Palm Beach Eagles 10-5 behind Diaz's early single

The Phipps Park Barracudas (3-4) jumped on the West Palm Beach Eagles (4-4) early on their way to a 10-5 win on Saturday at Forrest Hill H.S. in seven innings, scoring four runs in the first inning.

The Phipps Park Barracudas scored in the first on a two-run single by Carlos Diaz, a groundout by Johnston McCurry, and a steal of home by Diaz.

Diaz racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Phipps Park Barracudas.

The West Palm Beach Eagles had no answer for Raymond Catena, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The West Palm Beach Eagles managed just one hit off of the the Phipps Park Barracudas' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out six during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Anthony Delaney got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Delaney struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

Justin Tworek was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
