The South Florida Huskies get on top of the Pompano Beach Clippers early but can't hang on in 7-4 loss

The South Florida Huskies (12-12) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-4 to the Pompano Beach Clippers (26-3) on Saturday.

The Pompano Beach Clippers took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run triple by Jon Avallone.

The Pompano Beach Clippers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Evan Dougherty, who went 2-2 against the South Florida Huskies' pitching. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Nate Mcmaster improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Pompano Beach Clippers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Levi Gonzalez was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
