Johnnie LaRossa collected three hits, sparking the Palm Beach Xtreme (9-5) to a 7-4 victory over the Phipps Park Barracudas (8-5) on Monday at Spanish River High School.
He singled in the first and third innings.The Palm Beach Xtreme got the win thanks in large part to Robert Guarnieri's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Guarnieri allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over five innings.
Kevin Scranton paced the Phipps Park Barracudas at the plate. Scranton went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth innings.
Kyle Keatts (0-2) took the loss for the Phipps Park Barracudas. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
