The Palm Beach Xtreme (5-3) beat the Coral Springs Royals (2-4) 9-5 on Friday at Coral Glades Sportsplex behind Alec Dowell, who went 2-3.

Despite the loss, the Coral Springs Royals' Bobbby Barradas dominated the Palm Beach Xtreme's batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.

Will Mullen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Coral Springs Royals. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Johnnie LaRossa improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Stuart Spiers was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
