A walk-off single from Gage West brought home the winning run for the Amsterdam Mohawks (40-10) in a 4-3 victory over the Saugerties Stallions in 10 innings at Shuttleworth Park on Thursday.
West was hot from the plate for the Amsterdam Mohawks. West went 2-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the tenth inning.
Tyler Smith pitched lights out for the Amsterdam Mohawks. Smith gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Pat Dorrian ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
