Patishall's big day not enough as the Victor RailRiders fall to the Elmira Pioneers, 5-4

A gem on the rubber by Mitch Patishall wasn't enough to carry the Victor RailRiders (22-19) to a win on Tuesday, as the Victor RailRiders fell to the Elmira Pioneers (27-14) 5-4 at Dunn Field.

Patishall kept the Elmira Pioneers off the board during his seven innings of work. Patishall allowed two hits, one walk and struck out six.

Taylor Hillson was solid at the plate for the Elmira Pioneers. Hillson went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third and eighth innings.

The Victor RailRiders had no answer for Jake Greer, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Greer held the Victor RailRiders hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Mike Stephens got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Stephens struck out one, walked one and gave up three hits.

Dylan Swetman (0-1) took the loss for the Victor RailRiders. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
