A seven-run explosion in the third inning hoisted the Newark Pilots (13-19) to a 13-3 win over the Elmira Pioneers (23-13) at Colburn Park on Tuesday.

The Newark Pilots scored in the third on a sacrifice fly by William Gorman, a triple by Willy Yahn, a triple by Corey Lerche, a triple by Lerche, a wild pitch, , a triple by Cody Wiktorski, and a groundout by Mark Martin.

Wiktorski racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Newark Pilots.

Logan Harasta pitched lights out for the Newark Pilots. The Elmira Pioneers managed just two hits off of the the Newark Pilots' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his six innings of work.

Nate Matheson couldn't get it done on the bump for the Elmira Pioneers, taking a loss. He allowed 11 runs in two innings, walked seven and struck out two.
