The Elmira Pioneers (24-13) took home a 16-6 victory over the Amsterdam Mohawks (29-7) on Saturday at Dunn Field, fueled by eight runs in the seventh inning.

The Elmira Pioneers scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Brian Barefoot, an RBI single by Troy Squires, a wild pitch, a wild pitch, an error, a wild pitch, , and a sacrifice fly by Sam Clark.

Hayden Kelly racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Elmira Pioneers.

The Amsterdam Mohawks couldn't get anything going as long as Tristian Widra was pitching. Widra held the Amsterdam Mohawks hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Justin Yurchak put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.

Mike Korchak got his third win for the Elmira Pioneers despite allowing five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Korchak struck out three, walked three and gave up nine hits.

Evy Ruibal (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.

The Elmira Pioneers pounded the Amsterdam Mohawks pitching, as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 10 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
