Mason McClellan had two extra base hits, helping the Utica Brewers (9-11) to a 6-3 victory over the Newark Pilots (6-10) on Wednesday at Murnane Field at Donovan Stadiu.

Peter Beattie handled the Newark Pilots' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Beattie allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over three innings.

Blake Valley was hot from the plate for the Newark Pilots. Valley went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth innings and singled in the second and ninth innings.

Collin Gee improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Utica Brewers. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Jacob Wloczewski ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
