Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Adirondack Trail Blazers (8-9) and the Elmira Pioneers (10-6), as the two teams put up 17 runs combined in a 9-8 the Adirondack Trail Blazers win.

The teams totaled 24 hits in the game.

Chris Kwitzer was solid at the plate for the Adirondack Trail Blazers. Kwitzer went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Despite the loss, the Elmira Pioneers' Kyano Cummings dominated the Adirondack Trail Blazers' batters, giving up two runs and striking out nine.

Tom Fazzini got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Fazzini struck out one, walked one and gave up three hits.

Casey Wenzel (0-1) took the loss for the Elmira Pioneers. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
