A superb effort by Zach Crim hoisted the Adirondack Trail Blazers (7-8) to a 6-0 win over the Utica Brewers (7-9) on Friday at Murnane Field at Donovan Stadiu.
Crim pitched lights out for the Adirondack Trail Blazers. The Utica Brewers managed just one hit off of the the Adirondack Trail Blazers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out eight during his eight innings of work.
The Adirondack Trail Blazers blew out the Utica Brewers thanks to eight hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run single by Mike Flax delivered the runs in the sixth. The Adirondack Trail Blazers had one hit in the inning.
Brad Jones boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Adirondack Trail Blazers. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings.
Peter Beattie couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Utica Brewers, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked six, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
