The bats were busy at Dunn Field on Thursday, and when the dust cleared the Elmira Pioneers (8-5) had a 15-8 win over the Glens Falls Dragons (6-8).
The teams totaled 24 hits in the game.
The Elmira Pioneers stamped out any hope for the Glens Falls Dragons with four runs in the eighth. The Elmira Pioneers scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Josh Lovelady, a two-run double by Tyler Plantier, and a groundout by Keegan Maronpot.
Plantier racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Elmira Pioneers.
Even though Mike Korchak allowed five runs over one inning he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered five hits.
JT Whritner (0-2) took the loss for the Glens Falls Dragons. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
