The Elmira Pioneers make the most of 10 hits in 7-5 victory over the Utica Brewers

The Elmira Pioneers (6-4) and the Utica Brewers (3-7) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Elmira Pioneers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-5 win at Murnane Field at Donovan Stadiu.

Christian Santisteban paced the Elmira Pioneers at the plate. Santisteban went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the third and fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Kyle Schade went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Utica Brewers. He singled in the second, fifth, and seventh innings.

Mike Korchak improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Elmira Pioneers. He allowed three runs over three innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered five hits.

Jake Amoroso couldn't get it done on the bump for the Utica Brewers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
