The Adirondack Trail Blazers (6-8) jumped on the Utica Brewers (6-9) early on their way to a 9-5 win on Tuesday at Murnane Field, scoring five runs in the first inning.

The Adirondack Trail Blazers scored in the first on an RBI single by Evan Alderman, an RBI single by Bobby Slagle, an RBI single by Slagle, and a three-run home run by Chris Kwitzer.

Kwitzer racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Adirondack Trail Blazers.

Ryan Aquino baffled the Utica Brewers, striking out four batters. The Adirondack Trail Blazers' pitcher gave up just four hits over four shutout innings.

Despite the loss, the Utica Brewers' Patrick Bellinger dominated the Adirondack Trail Blazers' batters, giving up three runs and striking out five.

Nick Harper recorded his first win of the year for the Adirondack Trail Blazers. He allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Ryan Simpler (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out four.
