Michael Messier kept the Victor RailRiders (2-1) off the board during his six innings of work and the Utica Brewers (3-2) beat the Victor RailRiders, 9-2.

Messier struck out four and allowed one walk and two hits.

The Utica Brewers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Smith, who went 3-3 against the Victor RailRiders' pitching.

Luke Tomczyk ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed one run.
