A four-run explosion in the third inning carried the Alameda Merchants (15-12) to a 6-0 win over the Atwater Aviators at College of Alameda on Tuesday.

The Alameda Merchants scored in the third on an RBI single by Spencer Erdman, an RBI double by Austin Kron, and a two-run double by Brian Poupore.

Kron did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Alameda Merchants, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Kyle Oden brought the heat against the Atwater Aviators (14-18) during his outing. The Atwater Aviators managed just two hits off of Oden, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Cole Kanazawa couldn't get it done on the bump for the Atwater Aviators, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out five.
