Aaron Alexander gave up no hits to help the Marysville Goldsox to a 6-2 victory over the Alameda Merchants (1-6) on Sunday at Colusa Stadium.
Alexander put together a nice outing. Alexander held the Alameda Merchants hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Neil Sterling had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Richard Boe (0-2) took the loss for the Alameda Merchants. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
