Hayden Duer was cold coming off the bench, but Duer warmed up quickly as Duer stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Sacramento Heat (17-12) to an 8-6 win over the Atwater Aviators (14-17) on Sunday at Sheldon High School.

With the Sacramento Heat trailing by two in the third inning, Duer came to the plate and singled, plating Wyatt Castro.

Anthony Geremia racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Sacramento Heat. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

The Atwater Aviators were led by Dan Reese's hitting. Reese went 2-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

JC Montemayor got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over 1 1/3 innings. Montemayor struck out none, walked one and gave up four hits.

Kyle Singer (1-3) took the loss for the Atwater Aviators. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
