Saturday was a great day for Champi Lucca, as he hit three home runs to carry the Top Speed Baseball (12-2) to a 14-12 victory over the Sacramento Heat (5-7) at Drake High in eight innings.
Lucca racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He singled in the fourth innings and homered in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.
Wyatt Castro racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Sacramento Heat. He homered in the first and second innings.
The two teams combined for 26 runs and 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
The Sacramento Heat couldn't get anything going so long as Cody Ball was on the hill. The Sacramento Heat managed just one hit off of Ball, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Chrit Rudkin improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Top Speed Baseball. He allowed two runs over one inning. Rudkin struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Jordan Garr (0-1) took the loss for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
