Zack Kirby hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Kirby struck out 12 batters to carry the Brockton Rox (22-14) to a 4-1 victory over the North Shore Navigators at Campanelli Stadium.
The North Shore Navigators (20-17) were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The North Shore Navigators were ahead until the fifth inning, but the Brockton Rox would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on an RBI single by Tommy Marcinczyk.
Marcinczyk racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Brockton Rox. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the seventh innings.
Tim Superko was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked seven, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
