The Nashua Silver Knights (16-18) beat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (21-14) 5-1 on Thursday at Holman Stadium behind Tyler Schwanz, who collected three hits.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks had no answer for Brandon Walsh, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Walsh gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Soren Hanson allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out four over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Trevor Holmes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
