The Brockton Rox (14-10) and the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (16-9) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Brockton Rox capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-5 win at Vineyard Baseball Park.

It was a good day at the plate for the Brockton Rox's Nick Johnson. Johnson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Tommy Stoffel had an impressive outing against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' lineup. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks managed just one hit off of the the Brockton Rox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 1 2/3 innings of work.

Brian Campbell was solid at the plate for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. Campbell went 4-5, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the sixth inning and singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.

John Arel recorded his first win of the year for the Brockton Rox. He allowed two runs over one-third of an inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Evan Roberts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
