Cameron Oliveira came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Oliveira reached on a error in the eight to lead the Seacoast Mavericks (7-10) to a 3-2 win over the Brockton Rox (9-8) on Thursday at Leary Field.

Michael Purcell had a hot bat for the Seacoast Mavericks. Purcell went 3-4 and drove in one. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

Tom Hudon pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out three.

Despite the loss, the Brockton Rox's Jake Fishman dominated the Seacoast Mavericks' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

Ryan Ross recorded his first win of the year for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed one run over one inning. Ross struck out three, walked none and gave up two hits.

Fishman (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
