Wednesday was a great day for Zack Tower, as he hit two home runs to carry the Worcester Bravehearts (6-11) to a 9-5 victory over the Pittsfield Suns (7-8) at Fitton Field.
Dylan Collett had an impressive outing against the Pittsfield Suns' lineup. Collett held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Tyler Lyne reached base three times in the game for the Pittsfield Suns. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Clayton Dostal recorded his first win of the year for the Worcester Bravehearts. He allowed three runs over four innings. Dostal struck out four, walked one and gave up four hits.
Robert Anderson (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out five.
The Worcester Bravehearts were sparked by Willie Allen and Tower, who teamed up for five hits and seven RBIs.
