Dan Palazzo went 4-4 at the plate as the Pittsfield Suns (1-0) took home a 9-6 victory over the Torrington Titans (0-1) at Fuessenich Park on Thursday.

The Torrington Titans had no answer for River Carbone, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Carbone gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

The Torrington Titans were led by Zach Wood's hitting. Wood went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

Alex Fishberg had an impressive outing against the Pittsfield Suns' lineup. Fishberg held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Connor Johnson recorded the win for the Pittsfield Suns. He allowed three runs over one inning. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered two hits.

John Russell was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
