The Orleans Firebirds (31-12) jumped on the Chatham Anglers (22-22) early on their way to an 8-4 win on Sunday at Veterans Field, scoring four runs in the first inning.

The Orleans Firebirds scored in the first on an error, an error, and a three-run home run by Bobby Dalbec.

Willie Abreu was hot from the plate for the Orleans Firebirds. Abreu went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fourth inning.

Parker Bean brought the heat against the Chatham Anglers during his outing. Bean held the Chatham Anglers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Kyle Brooks got on base three times in the game for the Chatham Anglers. He also drove in two runners. He doubled in the fourth inning.

James Mulry (1-1) took the loss for the Chatham Anglers. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
