Both the Harwich Mariners (16-19) and the Orleans Firebirds (26-10) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Harwich Mariners that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-5 win at Eldredge Park.

Johnny Adams racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Harwich Mariners. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Orleans Firebirds had no answer for Hunter Newman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Newman gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.
