The Orleans Firebirds (26-9) beat the Cotuit Kettleers (13-22) 7-2 on Wednesday at Eldredge Park behind Kyle Lewis, who went 2-4.

Kyle Serrano baffled the Cotuit Kettleers, striking out eight batters. Serrano allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over five innings.

Will Haynie racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Cotuit Kettleers. He singled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Jon Woodcock allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings of work.

Sean Watkins improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Orleans Firebirds. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Jack Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
