Luke Bonfield was cold coming off the bench, but Bonfield warmed up quickly as Bonfield stroked a key pinch-hit single in the nine to lead the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (16-14) to a 4-3 win over the Falmouth Commodores (12-18) on Wednesday at Red Wilson Field.
With the score tied at three in the ninth inning, Bonfield came to the plate and singled.
It was a good day at the plate for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's Joshua Vidales. Vidales went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.
Chad Hockin had an impressive outing against the Falmouth Commodores' lineup. Hockin held the Falmouth Commodores hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Evan Skoug racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Falmouth Commodores. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Wyatt Short (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
