A great effort by Gio Brusa spurred the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (13-14) to an 8-1 win over the Chatham Anglers (15-12) on Saturday at Veterans Field.

Brusa blasted two home runs for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Brusa went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Brusa homered in the third and fifth innings.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox to easily put away the Chatham Anglers. An RBI single by Brusa, an RBI single by Brusa, and a fielder's choice during the first inning fueled the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's offense early.

The Chatham Anglers couldn't get anything going so long as Ricky Thomas was on the hill. The Chatham Anglers managed just one hit off of the the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Zac Gallen couldn't get it done on the mound for the Chatham Anglers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out three.
