Cassidy Brown had two extra base hits, sparking the Brewster Whitecaps (12-11) to a 9-4 victory in eight innings over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (11-13) on Tuesday at Red Wilson Field.
He singled in the first inning, homered in the third inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.Anthony Arias racked up 10 strikeouts in the the Brewster Whitecaps win. Arias allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over five innings.
Cole Billingsley did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, reaching base three times. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
The Brewster Whitecaps had no answer for Evan Bell, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Bell gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Brett Adcock (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
