Chatham Anglers vs Orleans Firebirds: 2-4

Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Orleans Firebirds make the most of 5 hits in 4-2 victory over the Chatham Anglers

Story by Narrative Science.

The Orleans Firebirds (16-6) and the Chatham Anglers (12-11) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Orleans Firebirds capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Eldredge Park.

The fact that the Orleans Firebirds grouped all of their runs into the third inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

The Chatham Anglers had no answer for Kit Scheetz, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Scheetz gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 1 1/3 innings of work.

Garrett Williams was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Orleans Firebirds batters and allowing zero runs.

Corbin Burnes recorded his third win of the year for the Orleans Firebirds. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered five hits.

Daniel Castano was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
