The Wareham Gatemen (10-9) and the Cotuit Kettleers (6-13) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Wareham Gatemen that eventually took advantage of them in a 1-0 win at Spillane Field.

The fact that the Wareham Gatemen grouped all of their runs into the sixth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Andrew Calica had a hot bat for the Wareham Gatemen. Calica went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Blake Fox had an impressive outing against the Cotuit Kettleers' lineup. The Cotuit Kettleers managed just three hits off of Fox, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

The Wareham Gatemen had no answer for Jon Woodcock, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Woodcock gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Woodcock was charged with his first loss of the year.
