The Chatham Anglers (12-11) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-2 to the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (14-9) on Friday.
While the Chatham Anglers led until the seventh inning, the Hyannis Harbor Hawks worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Austin Hays.
Jacob Noll racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He singled in the first and sixth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Aaron Civale brought the heat against the Chatham Anglers during his outing. Civale held the Chatham Anglers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Zac Gallen was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Hyannis Harbor Hawks batters and allowing zero runs.
Marc Skinner got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Skinner struck out three, walked three and gave up one hit.
Carl Burdick ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
